Your Opportunities as a UX Designer
UX and UI designers work hand in hand at igniti and overlap in many areas of responsibility, but they do differ. While some tend to work holistically in their jobs and combine competencies from e-commerce, online marketing and product design, others focus primarily on the art of digital UI design. More precisely:
UX Designer (m/f/x)
As a UX Designer, you will leave nothing to chance when designing and know exactly where and how to reach potential users to get them from “need” to “buy”. At igniti, we are constantly working on creative, innovative digital projects in e-commerce and software. As a UX Designer your skills are needed as a creative all-rounder so that in the end, the user experience is perfect and comprehensive. Your tasks start with conducting research (e.g. for new UX trends or for the creation of personas) and advising clients on how to improve the usability of their digital product. Further tasks as a UX Designer include the concrete creation of wireframes and layouts, which can then be implemented by our software developers.
UI Designer (m/f/x)
User interface designers are the interior designers of the digital world. They polish user interfaces for all kinds of digital products to a high gloss by bringing the right colors and shapes into play to create a coherent user interface design out of thin air. You’ll work on the creation of, for example, banners and graphics for online stores, social media posts or software interface designs. Our UI designers have full access to the Adobe Creative Cloud. This means that you always have the latest versions of Adobe XD, Photoshop, After Effects or Lightroom at hand to give your creativity free rein.
If we choose each other, you will soon spend a lot of your time with your fellow lovely ignitians. We are colorful, diverse and complement each other perfectly in all projects. Though the software development and e-commerce areas are seperate, we continue to act and function as one big team. Our team leaders Tom and Marc see to it that you are extensively trained, well prepared for your tasks and in the right position from the start. They always have an open ear and above all, trust in your abilities. To enable you to take on tasks independently, you will receive an introduction to our internal system, tools and our IT administrator will up your work equipment. Experience how lively e-commerce and software projects can develop when everyone from the working student to management pulls together.

Your new view
As Thuringians, we love our idyllic state and especially Jena. The city is known for the Jentower, our office HQ and extremely popular photo motif/viewing platform. Who wouldn’t love see the surrounding hills, rivers and valleys from their desk in the states tallest building?
If you want to save yourself the commute or circumstances don’t allow for everyday office work in Jentower, as a digital agency Home Office work has always been acceptable.
So, you share our enthusiasm for innovative digital solutions, modern working conditions and a relaxed, productive working atmosphere with constant development? Great, that’s half the battle! The other is competence level. Obviously, a degree or training in the field of UX Design is most desirable, but more important to us is your actual knowledge and skills – both on a professional and human level.
For the combined position of user interface and user experience designer, you should first and foremost be able to get into the heads of users of online shops and apps so that you can provide them with maximum support in their shopping experience. In addition, you need to have experience in the use of common design tools from Adobe to create appealing user interface designs. You already know your craft in your sleep and are up for a breath of fresh air?
