Qt World Summit 2023

After a two-year break, during which the conference only took place online, the Qt World Summit 2023 returns to the big live stage on 28 and 29 November. Numerous developers, experts and technology enthusiasts gathered in Berlin to gain up-to-date insights into the latest developments and trends in Qt technology.

From our team, software developer Henrik, managing director Frank and content creator Vanessa were on site. They represented igniti as active exhibitors and presented our own Qt case.

Tangible and hardware-related innovation with Qt

At the Qt World Summit 2023, it became clear just how versatile and forward-looking Qt technology is. The numerous exhibitors offered fascinating insights into the future of software development. Visitors were able to experience the latest advances in Qt technology up close, including cutting-edge developments and real-life use cases. All exhibits emphasised that Qt is far more than just a framework for developing digital products. The spectrum of innovations on show ranged from digital twins and augmented reality to specialised software solutions for the automotive sector or audiovisual applications.

Seamlessly integrate e-commerce into Qt applications

As an official Qt service partner we were able to present our latest Qt development, the Commerce Connector, at the Qt World Summit 2023. The solution developed by igniti enables e-commerce functionalities to be seamlessly integrated into Qt applications. With several interfaces to common e-commerce systems, the Commerce Connector enables the embedding of various e-commerce processes – from product portfolios to user logins and checkout – directly into the Qt application.

The case we presented showed how the Commerce Connector can be used as an innovative sales channel for high-quality fully automatic coffee machines with a touch display. We demonstrated to the specialist audience how consumables such as coffee beans or cleaning agents can be selected and ordered directly via the machine with minimal development effort.

Our live sessions attracted many interested visitors to our stand and led to inspiring conversations. We are proud that our development not only attracted attention, but also served as a source of inspiration for future applications and developments.

In addition to the exhibitors, the two-day event also featured a wealth of interesting keynote and breakout sessions. These covered a wide range of areas, including customer cases, Qt Explorer, development, design, quality assurance and the Qt Academy. Visitors had the opportunity to be inspired by industry experts and gain valuable insights from practical success stories. Many of the presentation topics were particularly exciting for (Qt) developers. We at igniti were also able to take away additional knowledge and expertise from these sessions.

Online streaming on Keynote Day

For those who were unable to attend the Qt World Summit 2023 in person, the event offered a practical solution: online streaming tickets specifically for the keynote day. These tickets made it possible to experience the keynotes of the first day in hybrid form. However, the breakout sessions, which took place in a variety of areas on the second day, were only accessible to on-site attendees.

Qt World Summit App

The Qt World Summit 2023 was supported by a specially developed conference app that served as a digital navigator. This app provided a clear overview of all important information and dates. Participants were able to create their own individual schedules using the session timetable. A special feature was the opportunity to ask questions interactively via the app during the keynotes, which were then addressed directly in the presentations.

The Qt World Summit 2023 was an extremely worthwhile event. Thanks to the manageable size of the event, we had the opportunity to experience the trade fair in its entirety and had time for individual exploration. We are particularly pleased with the overwhelmingly positive response to our Commerce Connector. The in-depth and stimulating discussions and the strong interest in our product make us very confident for future projects. We are already looking forward to the next time!
